Killswitch Engage - Adam Dutkiewicz [guitar], Joel Stroetzel [guitar], Mike D'Antonio [bass], Justin Foley [drums] and Jesse Leach [vocals] - hail from western Massachusetts (where the only thing icier than the highway in winter is the locals' blunt sense of humor) and have always been something special.

As deadly serious as their technical riffs might be, they also knew how to have a good time, heating up the crowd with unbridled energy and unpredictable performances. They could thrash with the best of them or serve up the kind of sing-along bangers you could belt out with the windows down.

From day one, of course, they appealed to headbangers, hardcore kids and broken hearts alike.

In 2002, Alive Or Just Breathing sent shockwaves through the culture and claimed a spot on Decibel's "The Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time." They reached more than 3 billion streams and received gold and platinum awards for The End of Heartache and As Day Light Dies respectively. They received three GRAMMY® Award nominations in the "Best Metal Performance" category.
