"Ammonite" is a romantic drama film from 2020, written and directed by Francis Lee. The movie is loosely inspired by the life of British paleontologist Mary Anning, played by Kate Winslet. The movie revolves around a speculative love affair between Anning and Charlotte Murchison, played by Saoirse Ronan.

The Hollywood Reporter ranked "Ammonite" #4 on its year-end list of the best films of 2020. The film was ranked #27 on IndieWire's list of the 50 best films of 2020 and #43 on Esquire's year-end list. Ammonite won awards at the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Women Film Critics Circle Awards.

The film score, created by award-winning composers Volker Bertelmann (Hauschka) ("All Quiet on the Western Front", "Lion") & Dustin O'Halloran ("Lion", "Transparent"), was nominated for several awards.
