Nicholas Bracegirdle, also known as Chicane, is a British electronic musician, composer and producer. He is often regarded as one of the pioneering founders of trance.

After enjoying some success with his debut album in 1997, he sealed his worldwide success with his second album "Behind The Sun", which was originally released in March 2000.

The album spawned four singles: "Saltwater", "Don't Give Up", "No Ordinary Morning" / "Halcyon" and "Autumn Tactics". Both "Saltwater" (feat. Máire Brennan) and "Don't Give Up" were released to great commercial success, reaching number 1 on the UK Dance Singles Chart. The latter was a collaboration with best-selling artist Bryan Adams and became a top ten hit in the singles charts in Europe and North America.
