Wednesday announce their highly anticipated new album "Bleeds", released via Dead Oceans.
With "Bleeds", the North Carolina rock band presents a rousing collection of their narratively dense Southern rock that - like the most compelling moments in their discography - sensitively explores the link between curiosity and confession.
"Bleeds" is a patchwork-like triumph of literary allusions and outlaw grit, of place-based poetry and hair-raising noise. Karly Hartzman - the band's founder, frontwoman and main lyricist - attributes Wednesday's solidified identity to time spent working together on previous albums, as well as a tour schedule that's as enriching as it is tireless.
Last month, the band released "Elderberry Wine," a timeless new twangy single that has been critically acclaimed. Pitchfork named the song "Best New Track", TIME Magazine named it one of "The Best Songs of 2025 So Far" and the Guardian praised it in their playlist as a "pedal-steel-sweetened heartwarmer". To mark the release of "Elderberry Wine", the quartet appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and made their eagerly awaited live debut on US TV.
