"Brotherhood", written, recorded and produced by New Order, was originally released in September 1986 on Factory Records and reached number 9 in the UK album charts. The album contains one of the band's most popular hits, "Bizarre Love Triangle", and is roughly divided into a rock and an electronic section.

The extended 2-CD edition of the band's fourth album "Brotherhood" includes the 2024 remastered version of the original album as well as a second CD with extras such as mixes, studio demos, alternative versions and instrumental tracks. The remastered versions and bonus tracks are available on CD for the first time outside of the Definitive Edition box sets and also include booklets with the box set's liner notes and a selection of photos.
