The double album features 24 songs, divided into 12 tracks for the day and 12 tracks for the night, and is considered Jepsen’s most cohesive artistic work to date. With “Day and Night,” Carly Rae Jepsen creates a dreamlike soundscape where days and nights flow into one another. Together with longtime collaborators such as Tavish Crowe (who also co-wrote the global hit “Call Me Maybe” with her), she developed two distinct musical facets: While “Day” captivates with organic sounds, live instrumentation, and influences from 1970s psychedelic pop, “Night” presents itself as a modern, synth-driven dance-pop experience.
