A chamber music cool jazz gem from 1955 by one of the last important bands of West Coast jazz. On the album, drummer and bandleader Chico Hamilton introduced a new quintet in the then unusual line-up of saxophone, guitar, cello and bass. With its unique sound and nuanced, imaginative arrangements, the ensemble, which recorded two more albums in the same constellation, quickly gained considerable popularity.
