The cornetist Don Cherry gained worldwide fame in the free jazz scene from 1958 as a member of Ornette Coleman's revolutionary bands. However, Cherry did not present himself as an independent bandleader until 1965 on his Blue Note debut album "Complete Communion". With a quartet consisting of musicians experienced in free jazz, the cornetist explored two suite-like compositions, each of which extended over an entire side of the record and gave his fellow players plenty of room to contribute as soloists.
Blue Note Tone Poet Edition: Stereo, produced by Joe Harley, completely analog remastered by Kevin Gray from the original tapes, RTI pressing (180g), sturdy tip-on gatefold sleeve, padded inner sleeve.
