On their debut album "Prodigal Sun", Afflicted had skillfully signaled that they would not be easily pigeonholed. Vehemently swimming against the current, the Stockholmers left everything behind in 1995 and changed completely on their second album "Dawn of Glory".
Afflicted had officially reformed as "Defenders of True Heavy Metal". "Dawn of Glory" was more in line with the powerful vibe of Silver Mountain, Heavy Load and Axe Witch and catapulted the First Wave of Swedish Heavy Metal (FWOSHM) into the modern era with tracks like "Raging into Battle", "Son of Earth" and the rousing title track. "Dawn of Glory" was unavailable for years and now shines in new light thanks to a spectacular remaster in its original state by Patrick W. Engel (Corrosion of Conformity, Destruction) at Temple of Disharmony Studios.
