From the cover to the lyrics, death metal legends Deicide made no concessions when it came to their uncompromising anti-church stance on their 1995 album "Once Upon the Cross". In fact, the album contained samples from the movie "The Last Temptation of Christ", which itself was accused of blasphemy. But the band was by no means standing still, as the breathtaking guitar skills of Eric and Brian Hoffman and the frenzied salvos of bassist/vocalist Glen Benton and drummer Steve Asheim became increasingly impressive and - dare one say it - downright miraculous.

For the first nationwide US release on vinyl, we present "Once Upon the Cross" as a milky transparent pressing with blood splatters, remastered for this format, complete with printed inner sleeve with lyrics.
