London 2011: The ambitious Italian banker Massimo Ruggero has made hundreds of millions of US dollars for his employer, NYL Bank. Much to the satisfaction of his boss Dominic Morgan, who is happy to promote Massimo - until he becomes embroiled in an international financial war and a scandal involving his drug-addicted ex-wife. The situation gets even worse when Massimo's rival suddenly dies and he becomes the prime suspect. Sensing that Dominic is hiding something, Massimo sets out to uncover the truth, which soon leaves him with the choice of supporting his mentor or stopping him.
