Durand Jones & The Indications: Flowers [LP]

For their fourth album and their first since 'Private Space' (2021) - described by Billboard as "infused with disco and funk" - The Indications followed a desire to return to their roots. These lie in a basement in Bloomington, where they first discovered their shared passion for raw funk and southern soul, which inspired their self-titled debut album.
Much like on that 2016 release,

The Indications also placed great emphasis on close collaboration on "Flowers". Much of the self-produced album was created together in Rhine's home studio in Chicago, with many songs based on one-take demos - a testament to the special energy during the recording process, where each band member effortlessly drew from their refined repertoire. The eleven songs on "Flowers" reflect the maturity and conviction of the band - mature, sensual and perfect for a ride in the blue while indulging in the softer side of soul and disco.
