Victor Julien-Laferrière, winner of the first Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition for Cello in Belgium in 2017, presents two French works for cello and orchestra. Commenting on "Outscape" by Pascal Dusapin, he says: "The title itself carries the musical project (...) a word that points to a multitude of meanings - from the most everyday to the most philosophical. 'Outscape' is the attempt or possibility to escape, to invent one's own path.

I liked this word because it's basically like a summary of the story of my work." In addition to this work, composed in 2015 and recorded here as a premiere recording (under the direction of Kristiina Poska), the French cellist and the Orchestre National de France under the direction of David Robertson celebrate Henri Dutilleux, who died on May 22, 2013.
