To mark the 50th anniversary of the legendary prog rock band Emerson, Lake & Palmer, the album "Black Moon" is being released as a limited picture disc vinyl edition.

Founded in 1970, Emerson, Lake & Palmer were the pioneers of the progressive rock sound and one of rock's first supergroups. The world-conquering, stadium-filling prog giants helped expand the genre's audience from hundreds of thousands to tens of millions and were one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1970s. Their first 7 albums all reached the top 10 in the UK album charts and the top 20 in the USA.

"Black Moon" is ELP's eighth studio album. It was released in 1992, when the band re-formed after 14 years, having split up after the previous album "Love Beach" (1978). The music is stripped down, yet revved up mainstream rock, although in many places it retains the feel of their prog epics from the 70s. Expertly remastered in 2017 by acclaimed rock studio engineer Andy Pearce.

First released in 1992, the album "Black Moon" marked the return of Emerson, Lake & Palmer after fourteen years away from the studio. A new era began with Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer. The album combines the band's typical technical brilliance with a leaner production style of the early 90s.

Remastered in 2017, this 2-CD edition presents the original album with improved clarity and balance, allowing the rhythm section to pack a punch and Emerson's keyboard playing to stand out more clearly. Tracks like the rousing title track "Black Moon" and the melodic "Affairs of the Heart" underscore an album that combines classic prog ambitions with contemporary rock sensibilities.
The second CD expands the set with bonus material, including B-sides and further recordings from this period, offering a more comprehensive insight into ELP's final studio chapter. For collectors and longtime listeners, this edition is the most complete and best-sounding version of a seminal late work by the band.

This is a reissue presented in a 6-page 2CD digisleeve with booklet.
