Talking Heads members Chris Frantz and David Byrne met as students at the Rhode Island School of Design and played in their college band The Artistics. In the spring semester of 1974, the band met in Frantz's apartment on Benefit Street to record a demo tape. The tape included the tracks "Warning Sign" and "Psycho Killer," which would soon become classics of the Talking Heads discography. This new collection contains this newly discovered material as well as eleven other demo and live tracks recorded by the original line-up of the band (with bassist Tina Weymouth, Frantz and Byrne) in 1975 and 1976.

The CD box contains 28 demos and a live recording of the concert from October 9, 1976 in Max's Kansas City, New York.
