Historic 4 hours of previously unreleased live recordings by Art Pepper from 1959, recorded at the legendary jazz club The Cellar in Vancouver, Canada.
The release of Art Pepper's "Everything Happens To Me: 1959 - Live At The Cellar" is a music archivist's dream come true. Recordings of a major jazz artist, in a legendary club, at a time when he was creating some of his most important works.
These 1959 recordings at The Cellar show Pepper in the midst of creating milestone albums such as "Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section" (1957), "Modern Art" (1957), "Art Pepper + Eleven" (1959) and "Gettin' Together" (1960). Although Pepper was going through a dry spell at the time, The Cellar jazz club in Vancouver, Canada, was in full swing and in the midst of its seven-year run (1956 -1963).
