The Byrds were one of the first bands to combine the best of two different worlds. They combined the energy of the British Invasion with the musical elements of the contemporary folk movement. Along the way, they became pioneers of psychedelic and country rock, but always managed to remain recognizable thanks to their vocal melodies and ringing guitars.
On their third album "Fifth Dimension" from 1966, the psych rock of "Eight Miles High" and "I See You" moved more in the direction of LSD, along with a new fondness for Indian raga. One of the most groundbreaking albums!
The Byrds were one of the first bands to succeed in combining the best of two worlds. They took the energy of the British Invasion and combined it with the lyricism and musical elements of the contemporary folk movement. In doing so, they pioneered psychedelic and country rock, but always remained recognizable thanks to their vocal harmonies accompanied by jangling guitars.
On their third album "Fifth Dimension" from 1966, they showed a more LSD-influenced side of themselves with the psychedelic rock of songs such as "Eight Miles High" and "I See You" as well as a preference for Indian ragas. One of their most groundbreaking albums!
"Fifth Dimension" is available as a 60th anniversary edition with 1500 individually numbered copies on orange vinyl.
