To mark his 87th birthday, legendary jazz saxophonist and flautist Charles Lloyd performed with a new trio at the Lobero Theater in Santa Barbara in March 2025. Immediately afterwards, he went into the studio with pianist Jason Moran and guitarist Marvin Sewell to record his twelfth Blue Note album, "Figure In Blue".
The double album takes Lloyd on a musical journey to the people and influences that have shaped his career, from beautiful ballads and raw Delta blues to heartfelt tributes to Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday and Zakir Hussain.
