Gadabout Season [CD]

Like her famous predecessors Alice Coltrane and Dorothy Ashby, Grammy-nominated harpist Brandee Younger combines the shimmering, beautiful sound of her instrument with the groove and freedom of jazz.

For Younger, who has worked with Pharaoh Sanders, Lauryn Hill, John Legend, Common, The Roots and Ravi Coltrane, her third album for Impulse! Records is also her most personal to date.

All compositions were penned by her, with the sometimes ballad-like melodic, sometimes subtly grooving tracks describing a year of profound changes for her. Three tracks include collaborations with Shabaka, Courtney Bryan and Josh Johnson.
