Their tenth album "Into Oblivion" underlines Lamb Of God's position as music veterans and proves that the band no longer has to prove anything to anyone: "Into Oblivion" references their roots, their characteristic groove and yet explores new terrain.

If you ask singer Randy Blythe about the album title "Into Oblivion", he answers without beating around the bush: "Because that's where we're heading. The album is about the ongoing and rapid disintegration of the social contract, especially here in America. Things that would have caused horror 20 years ago are acceptable today." Blythe also sheds light on the personal responsibility of the individual. "People's increasing inability to accept uncertainty has led them to look for someone to tell them, 'Everything will be okay as long as you believe in me. I have all the answers. I alone can solve the problem,'" says Blythe. "There's this willing abandonment of agency and responsibility."

"Into Oblivion" was produced by her longtime partner Josh Wilbur. It was recorded in three different studios: the drums were produced at The Bakery in Richmond and the guitar and bass tracks at Mark Morton's (guitar) home studio in Virginia. The vocals were recorded at Total Access, the legendary studio in Redondo Beach, California, where Black Flag's "My War" and seminal albums by Hüsker Dü, Descendants and Saint Vitus were recorded. "When I walked in there, I immediately felt at home. I could feel this punk rock history, which is totally my world," enthuses Blythe. Ultimately, all of these factors - the music, the recordings, the themes of the lyrics and the band's creative goals - coalesced into "Into Oblivion".
