Lido Pimienta isn’t afraid to explore the depths of her creativity. Following last year’s *La Belleza*—a transcendent album born out of a dialogue with European classical music and her personal life—Lido is now striking a new, rebellious rhythm.

The groundbreaking, GRAMMY-nominated, and Polaris Prize-winning multidisciplinary artist returns with her album “Caribenya,” released in 2026. The title of the new album is a playful portmanteau of “Caribe” and “Enya”—a nod to the enigmatic Irish singer, of whom Pimienta is a fan. The enigmatic figure of Enya has influenced Pimienta, who listens to her music to help her concentrate while writing.

She is often compared to Björk and Natalia Lafourcade—in part due to the breadth, generational scope, and level of ambition in her work—but Pimienta prefers to identify primarily with the legendary, reclusive ambient diva. On “Caribenya,” Lido proves herself a modern master of her craft, honed by her ethereal vocals.

It is an album rooted in joyful resistance, in moments of escape to the dance floors, the beaches, and the living rooms of our loved ones, while the world is in flames. An iconoclast who creates music and visual art, inspired by her experiences as a Caribbean woman from Colombia. “Caribenya” on vinyl and CD combines the symphonic beauty of “La Belleza” with the hypnotic energy of “Caribenya”—available together for the first time and exclusively on physical formats.
