With "Light & Magic" from 2002, which was recorded in Manchester and Los Angeles, Ladytron joined the new electro movement, the so-called electroclash wave. With "Witching Hour" from 2005, they achieved their breakthrough and won over a whole new audience. Pitchfork wrote: "Every Quantum Leap record has a Quantum Leap single, and in this case it's 'Destroy Everything You Touch'. With an infectious chorus and tremulous production that sounds as much shoegaze as synth-pop, this is probably the most confident and menacing thing they've ever done."
