Joel Edgerton, Sigourney Weaver and Quintessa Swindell star in this crime thriller written and directed by Paul Schrader. Narvel Roth (Edgerton) is the chief gardener on Norma Haverhill (Weaver)'s estate and his life is complicated when Norma asks him to take on her troubled grand-niece Maya (Swindell) as an apprentice. As they grow closer, Narvel seeks to protect Maya when she is threatened by drug dealers, all the while struggling with the legacy of his own violent past.
