McGuinn, Clark & Hillman [CD]

The 1979 debut album for the three founding members of the Byrds. After several solo albums by Gene Clark and Roger Mcguinn, and with Chris Hillman as a part of the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band in the early 70s, the former Byrds members finally reunited. Every track on this record is excellent and marked by the individuality of McGuinn, Clarke and Hillman, while benefiting from the lush and innovative production. In a simple way, this is a timely collection of country rock, close to a sort of 'Best Of' example of what these three artists do. The album had a TOP40 hit ("Don't You Write Her Off") and led to a successful tour of the US and Europe.
