Wolf's debut album - oddly released after his second album - contains all of his early hits ("How Many More Years", "Moanin' at Midnight", "Smokestack Lightning", "Forty Four", "Evil" and "I Asked for Water [She Gave Me Gasoline]") and is a pretty strong collection in its own right.
"Moanin' In The Moonlight" is the follow-up album (which is always referred to as "the rocking chair album" because of Don Bronstein's distinctive cover), on which the equally strong duo of Willie Dixon and Wolf produce one Chicago blues classic ("Spoonful", "The Red Rooster", "Back Door Man", "Wang Dang Doodle") after another. On these wonderful sides, you can also clearly hear lead guitarist Hubert Sumlin becoming a legend of blues picking.
