"Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports" is Nick's first solo album and his first work outside of Pink Floyd. Originally released in 1981, he collaborated with a variety of different musicians, including Robert Wyatt and Carla Bley.
The album was recorded in 1979 at a session booked in America where Nick, Carla and Robert wanted to get their ideas together. Before the trip, however, Carla sent Nick a demo tape... "It was very different from what she'd done before and absolutely in line with what I like," Nick commented in 2012... and it became the nucleus of the album.
