For their last album "Ohio Players" last year, The Black Keys enlisted the support of well-known friends such as Noel Gallagher, Beck and Leon Michaels. With great success, as the album was well received by fans and cracked the top 5 in the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, among other countries.

For the follow-up "No Rain, No Flowers", Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have nevertheless chosen a different approach. This time, the top-class collaborators come more from the production and songwriting fields. Keyboardist Rick Nowels, for example, has already worked with Auerbach on Lana Del Rey's multi-platinum album "Ultraviolence". Daniel Tashian won two Grammys for his contribution to Kacey Musgraves' "Golden Hour" alone. And Scott Storch is highly regarded in the hip-hop scene for his work with The Roots and Dr. Dre.

The three of them have probably played their part in making "No Rain, No Flowers" The Black Keys' most pop-oriented album to date. Songs like "The Night Before" or the title track are immediately catchy and stay there. Casual ballads can also be found among the eleven new songs and "Man On A Mission" successfully builds a bridge to the past with its heavy rock riff.

Musically, with "No Rain, No Flowers", The Black Keys have positioned themselves more broadly than ever before. And the Grammy-winning band from Ohio succeeds in perfectly interweaving their eclectic musical influences.
