Carly Simon's number one hit “You're So Vain” is still considered one of the best songs ever recorded. For decades, it kept audiences guessing about the identity of its protagonist.

The question of identity remained perhaps the only mystery on the artist's autobiographical album. “No Secrets” helped Simons, who wrote or co-wrote all but one of the songs herself, achieve commercial breakthrough.

The album became a milestone in the singer-songwriter scene of the 1970s, spent five weeks at number one on the US Billboard 200 and quickly went gold. “You're So Vain” spent three weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and two weeks at number one on the Adult Contemporary charts. The second single, “The Right Thing to Do,” reached number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number four on the Adult Contemporary charts.
