After two years of tireless touring and numerous festival appearances, Finnish melodic death metal band Suotana are back with their most ambitious album to date
"Ounas II", which will be released at the end of August 2025. An epic sequel to 2023's "Ounas I", this album takes the band's characteristically frosty sound to a new level, delivering icy yet rousing melodic death anthems that will redefine the genre.

Following the success of their last album, Suotana embarked on an Asian tour with Kalmah and a European tour with Finntroll in early 2024, bringing their energetic, atmospheric sound to a new international audience. The band also further cemented their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the scene at renowned festivals such as Summer Breeze, Ragnarök Festival, Nummirock, Tuska and Hellsinki Metal Festival

The return to the studio resulted in a work that masterfully combines aggression, melody and monumental storytelling. "Ounas II" is an impressive testimony to Suotana's further development - epic, frost-clattering melodic death anthems with influences from black and power metal.

Songs like "Twilight Stream" and "Winter Visions" demonstrate the band's mature songwriting and the icy cold, yet electrifying atmosphere. The undisputed centerpiece of the album, however, is "1473 Ounas" - a ten-minute melodic death odyssey with a breathtaking guest appearance by Zoe Marie Federoff-Šmerda (Cradle of Filth). Her haunting vocal lines blend seamlessly with Suotana's signature sound, making the song an instant classic.

To conclude the Ounas saga, Suotana presents an icy cold reinterpretation of the Children of Bodom classic "Hatebreeder", in her own raw and arctic-influenced style.The stunning cover artwork, once again created by Simo Räsänen, perfectly captures the majestic Nordic landscape and raw intensity that characterizes Suotana. With "Ounas II", Suotana cements their place among the elite of Nordic metal and delivers an album that redefines the standards of melodic death metal with black metal influences.
