People Get Funny... (180g) [Limited Edition Translucent Pink Vinyl] [LP]

Eddie Harris was an American jazz musician who became known primarily as a tenor saxophonist and as the inventor of the electrically amplified saxophone. Over the course of his career, he recorded more than 50 albums on which he mixed jazz with funk, which earned him a Grammy nomination for two of his albums.

The 1983 recording "People Get Funny..." includes the title track "People Get Funny When They Get a Little Money" and "La Carnival", which are excellent examples of his jazz-funk style accompanied by vocals and scatting. "Silver Plated" and the other tracks are more of a jazz hard bop style.

The album features drummer Carl Burnett, electric pianist William S. Henderson III and bassist Larry Gales. "People Get Funny..." is available in a limited edition of 500 copies on Translucent Pink Vinyl.
