"8-Tracks" contains eight essential classics from the Pink Floyd era from 1971 to 1979. The tracklist includes the instantly recognizable hits "Money", "Wish You Were Here", "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2", "Time" and "Comfortably Numb", complemented by earlier tracks such as "One Of These Days" and "Wot's... Uh The Deal" as well as an exclusive complete version of "Pigs On The Wing", which was previously only available on the Animals 8-track cartridge from 1977. The track order has been rearranged by Steven Wilson for a consistent listening experience.

"8-Tracks" documents the complete evolution of Pink Floyd during their breakthrough that made them superstars in the 1970s. The eight-year period covered by this special release includes music from some of the most successful and acclaimed albums in the band's history: Meddle (1971), Obscured by Clouds (1972), The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) and The Wall (1979).
