Definition of "spin doctor": A spokesperson tasked with portraying events in a favorable light to the media, especially on behalf of a political party. The Spin Doctors were not affiliated with any political party, but instead spread romantic messages. The band was founded in New York City and is best known for their hits "Two Princes" and "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" from the early 1990s. The singles reached No. 7 and No. 17 respectively in the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
"Pocket Full of Kryptonite" is the Spin Doctors' first studio album, originally released in August 1991. The album reached #3 on the Billboard 200 album chart. It was the band's best-selling album and was certified 5-times platinum by the RIAA.
The title of the album is a reference to Kryptonite, a fictional substance from the Superman comic book series. The title comes from the album's opening track, "Jimmy Olsen's Blues," a reference to the Superman supporting character Jimmy Olsen, who is attracted to Lois Lane and jealous of her romantic feelings for Superman. The cover shows a phone booth and refers to the fact that Clark Kent often escapes to a nearby phone booth to change into his Superman costume.
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of "Pocket Full Of Kryptonite", the Spin Doctors will be going on an extensive tour during 2026.
This is a limited 35th anniversary edition of 4,000 individually numbered copies on translucent green vinyl. The cover has a high-quality leather-look lamination. The package contains an insert sheet.
