Marching seamlessly through deeply human emotional terrain, SOEN's upcoming seventh studio album "Reliance" continues to explore the human mind, heart and soul with visionary care and an added touch of heaviness.
With Lars Enok Åhlund (keyboards & guitar), Cody Lee Ford (guitar) and Stefan Stenberg (bass) alongside Ekelöf and Lopez, the lush, continuous evolution of SOEN's sound reaches new heights.
Take "Primal" for example, a powerful roar describing the existential struggle between the human spirit and our contemporary world, with Ekelöf's incredible voice leading the heavy assault. "Axis" is a determined and defiant look at the state of humanity, driven by Lopez's relentless but swinging drums, and then there's the quiet elegance of "Indifferent," a beautifully orchestrated modern lament about the loss of love that rides resolutely on the power of strings, piano and Ekelöf's marvelous voice.
