Route 96 (Limited Edition) (Blue Vinyl) [LP]

Sicilian guitar virtuoso Matteo Mancuso has announced details of his new album "Route 96". The album features guest contributions from Steve Vai, Antone Boyer and Valeriy Stepanov.

Matteo celebrated his breakthrough in 2023 with his debut album "The Journey" after his extraordinary talent attracted the attention of the likes of Tosin Abasi, Al Di Meola, Dweezil Zappa and Steve Vai. The release of his debut, a perfect blend of brilliant fingerstyle technique and artfully composed pieces, earned him the covers of numerous guitar magazines. He was hailed as "the hottest virtuoso in the world" and "a young guitarist redefining virtuosity" and subsequently toured internationally with sold-out concerts in Europe and the USA.

This year, 29-year-old Matteo Mancuso from Palermo, Sicily, is back with his second solo album "Route 96". While his debut album took three years to complete, this new work - as is so often the case with second albums - was created in a much shorter time.

In addition to Matteo, "Route 96" also features Riccardo Oliva (bass) and Gianluca Pellerito (drums). The recordings took place at the Fico D'India Studios in Casteldaccia, Italy, and were produced by Matteo and his father Vincenzo Mancuso. The first single "Isla Feliz" was recorded in collaboration with Antoine Boyer, who lends the track its unmistakable gypsy jazz character.
