The band Social Distortion from Orange County are back with their first album in 15 years, "Born to Kill". With 11 haunting songs, Mike Ness further expands the myth that Social Distortion is more than just a punk band. Throughout the collection, Ness revives the sound of the 1970s, his formative youth. "Born to Kill" is a continuation of the high standard for which Social Distortion, and therefore Ness, have long been praised.
"Born to Kill" is a work that will endure in the Social Distortion catalog for a long time. Songs like the driving title track that serves as the album's leitmotif, the riff-heavy "Partners in Crime", the nostalgic "The Way Things Were" and the rollicking "Tonight" are songs that fit into each of Social Distortion's different eras. Nearly five decades into their career and with a remarkable catalog that spans nearly three generations, Social Distortion have no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
