Stochastic Drift [LP]

Barker's debut album "Utility" (on the Berghain label Ostgut Ton) was something of a sensation in the world of electronic music when it was released. Utility made it onto numerous Best of 2019 lists, including Pitchfork (8.2 review), The Quietus, DJ Mag, Resident Advisor (Recommends) and others. It was also named "Album of the Year 2019" by Mixmag.

In 2025, it's finally time for the follow-up Stochastic Drift on Smalltown Supersound. And where on Utility Barker "used ambient materials to recreate techno", as Pitchfork's Philip Sherburne wrote, here he goes one step further, creating - as the title suggests - a dreamy stochastic drift and beautiful freeform float.
