Born Hadaiyah Bey, Yaya Bey began writing songs at the age of nine and emerged as a new voice in the avant-garde of R&B storytellers with her 2020 album, "Madison Tapes".

Her 2022 LP, "Remember Your North Star", and the subsequent EP, "Exodus The North Star", were reviewed by Spiegel, Stern, Zeit Online, Rolling Stone Deutschland, Jazzthetik, Missy Magazine, Plattentests and many more, and on the radio by, among others Deutschlandfunk Kultur, BR 2, Cosmo, ByteFM, RBB Radioeins and FluxFM, as well as being highly praised internationally by the New York Times, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, NPR, GQ, Crack Magazine, The Times, Clash and others.
