Watain is the wolf that hunts fearlessly and freely in the dark night of man Since 1998, Watain have made a name for themselves as one of the most famous and notorious black metal bands in the world.

Their work is often reacted to with fear, love, confusion or awe, but rarely with indifference. Recorded in an old church in the Swedish countryside, Watain brings the listener closer to the innermost heart of a band that, despite all the rumors and controversy, always strives for sincere, authentic expression.

The 10 songs were penned by Watain's founding trio (E. Danielsson, H. Jonsson and P. Forsberg), and mark the first album recorded with the full line-up of A. Lillo, H. Eriksson and E. Forcas. The material is further enriched by guest appearances from Farida Lemouchi (ex The Devil's Blood, now with Molasses) and Gottfrid Åhman (ex In Solitude, now with PÅGÅ). "The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain" was recorded with producer Tjore Stjerna at the Chapel Of Necromorbus, mastered by Thomas Johansson at The Panic Room, while band leader E. Danielsson was responsible for the impressive artwork and layout.
