Southern-born alternative R&B singer and songwriter Mereba artistically embodies her self-awareness on "The Breeze Grew a Fire", her greatest work and first release on Secretly Canadian.

To write this album, Mereba had to connect with her whole multifaceted self, from her inner child to her inseparable relationships. Mereba peacefully transforms her beginnings and contemplates her closest kinships and friendships with a keen understanding of their stabilizing, inspiring power.

Surrounded by the gentle breeze of these relationships and memories, Mereba is strengthened as both an artist and a mother, while being reminded to nurture her childlike wonder.

Mereba shines with grace on the follow-up to her stellar 2019 debut "The Jungle Is the Only Way Out". On her escape from the jungle, Mereba had to face the paradigm shift that came with the birth of a son in 2021 and adjusting to a rapidly changing self-image.
