Lacuna [CD]

The album “Lacuna,” set for release in 2026, heralds the next chapter in the 46-year history of the legendary Australian psychedelic dream-pop band The Church.

Their 28th album, “Lacuna,” unfolds—paired with Kilbey’s poetic and at times enigmatic lyrics, a multi-layered guitar atmosphere, and the hypnotic rhythm section—like a secret hidden within a slowly unfolding origami —it revels in its complexity, yet reveals its hidden message when the time is right. These architects of neo-psychedelic dream-gaze embed their metaphysical and esoteric lyrics deep within the shimmering, lush textures of two guitars, often achieving absolute sonic transcendence in the process.
