"Vicious Rumors is an American power metal band that was founded in 1979 in the San Francisco Bay Area. The band was formed by its founder, guitarist and singer Geoff Thorpe, and has been touring worldwide since their debut album in 1985.

Their first Atlantic release was the self-titled "Vicious Rumors" in 1990, one of the best moments in their long career. At times it sounded like a mixture of Bruce Dickinson and Geoff Tate on vocals with Judas Priest as backing band. The band then embarked on their first full US tour, which lasted over three months, and filmed their first official video, "Don't Wait for Me", directed by Gore Verbinski. This tour was quickly added to the rotation of MTV's Headbangers Ball. Die-hard fans will be pleased with this re-release, but even those who missed the boat the first time around will be well served by this new edition.
