While You Wait [CD]

If you look at piano trios in European jazz in recent decades, sooner or later the term "Nordic sound" inevitably comes to mind. Its leading representatives such as Jan Johansson, Bobo Stenson, Bugge Wesseltoft and Esbjörn Svensson not only drew on the wide range of American jazz, but also on their own musical roots such as the traditional songs of their home countries, classical and contemporary music.

With their ACT debut "While You Wait", the Danish piano trio "Little North" has the potential to open a new chapter in this story. With a strong sense of melody, harmony and dramaturgy, pianist Benjamin Nørholm Jacobsen, bassist Martin Brunbjerg Rasmussen and drummer Lasse Jacobsen create a cinematic sound, sometimes melancholic, sometimes enchantingly beautiful and full of twists and turns.
