Akkerman 80 [2CD]

For over 55 years, Jan Akkerman has been one of the most respected guitarists in the Netherlands. In addition to his leading role in the internationally acclaimed bands Focus and Brainbox, he has also collaborated with greats such as B. B. King, Charlie Byrd, Cozy Powell, Claus Ogerman, and Ice-T.

In his solo projects, Akkerman gave free rein to his creativity, blending rock, jazz, blues, classical music, and dance into a style all his own. In early 2005, Jan received the Golden Harp Award in recognition of his significant contribution to Dutch pop and guitar music. He dedicated the Netherlands’ most prestigious music award to his loyal audience.
