Marianne's folk debut Come My Way has been remastered from the original tapes by Grammy-nominated Andrew Batt, who also provided extensive accompanying commentary, which Marianne collaborated on before her death in January 2025.

"Come My Way" was released on the same day as her pop LP "Marianne Faithfull" and is based on tracks from the American folk revival. The album came about because Marianne wanted to record an LP based on the songs she had played in local folk clubs before she was signed.

The album was produced and arranged by Jon Mark, who was to become an important figure in Marianne's early career. He is supported on acoustic guitar by Big Jim Sullivan, one of the most sought-after and versatile studio musicians of the 60s, alongside John Paul Jones (later with Led Zeppelin) on bass. On tracks such as "Mary Ann" and "House Of The Rising Sun", the trio achieves an often perfect blend of folk revival sound and unexpected jazz elements.

Other musical highlights include the title track, which was written especially for the project with Jon Mark, "Spanish Is A Loving Tongue" by cowboy poet Charles Badger Clark and Marianne's interpretation of the traditional songs "Once I Had A Sweetheart" and "Fare Thee Well" - the latter is more than a match for Joan Baez's recording. The spoken word recordings of Lewis Carroll's "Jaberwock" and "Full Fathom Five" from Shakespeare's "The Tempest" are the result of Marianne's work with Prospect Theatre, a local theater company she performed with before her recording career.
