It is this very idea that forms the core of Polaris' third album "Fatalism"; a record characterized by the sense of despair and dystopia that has gripped the world in recent years, and the overwhelming feeling that we are powerless to change course. "Fatalism" is equally steeped in anxiety and subliminal catharsis, an expanded view and heavier sounds.

It builds organically on the bleak imagery and harsh soundscapes that permeate Polaris' ARIA Award-nominated 2020 album "The Death of Me". But rather than wallow or stagnate, "Fatalism" holds up the proverbial mirror as the five-piece Sydney band continues to build on their trademark blend of melodic metalcore, lush post-rock, electronic flourishes and more.

"Fatalism" is the third studio album from Australian metalcore band Polaris. The band produced and recorded the album in Melbourne in 2022 with Lance Prenc as engineer and Alpha Wolf guitarist Scottie Simpson as producer for the vocals. The release followed in September 2023 via SharpTone Records.
