"Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts - Talkin' To The Trees" will be released in summer 2025. The album was recorded in November at Rick Rubin's Shangri-La Studios in Malibu. Rubin, who produced Young's last studio album "World Record" in 2022, will not be the producer this time. Neil Young is taking on this job himself - together with his brother-in-law Lou Adler, with whom he produced last year's album "Before+After" with songs from the Coastal Tour.
Sound engineer John Hanlon reports that Neil Young plays electric and acoustic guitar, piano and organ on the album. The "Chrome Hearts" consist of Corey McCormick on bass, Anthony LoGerfo on drums, Micah Nelson on guitar and Spooner Oldham on Hammond organ. "The album evolves into a unique work - from soft acoustic sounds to loud, powerful rock pieces, comparable to a Jackson Pollock painting," Hanlon concludes.
