Recorded in New York in 1967, 'Silk&Soul' was the second album Nina Simone recorded for RCA. And despite the arrangements, which didn't always suit her voice best, this album features classics such as 'I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free', which was to become an anthem of the Civil Rights movement.

'It Be's That Way Sometimes', written by her brother Sam Waymon, and 'The Turning Point' are also included, as is NINA Simone's interpretation of Dusty Springfield's 'The Look Of Love', which originally appeared in the 1966 James Bond film 'Casino Royale' and is reminiscent of Mozart in its fugue-like climax.
